A Stop in Idaho

We decided to stop for some visits in Idaho.  We have made good friends there that are dear to our hearts.  Time does get away from us and often we don't connect with those who have filled our hearts.  So we decided this time we would try to catch a few.  We stopped at the Murray's house.  Shawn was a nurse that Brent worked with right out of college.  Then he went away to Nurse Anesthesia school.  So Brent has used him as a source of comfort and information.  It was a great visit.
Then we saw some old neighbors, the Davis'.  It was a fun visit with them.  It was great to see their kids and how big they have grown.  Kim was a good friend while we lived in Chubbuck.  She was more like a sister.
Then we went to see our old house.  To our surprise, it had gone from cream and peach to white and blue (the burgundy trim stayed the same)!  We never really loved the color of the house, but it was a great starter home for us.  It was fun to make the improvements inside to make it a great home.
They also added a nice garage on the side.  It was sad to see that they had ripped out the pine tree and some other bushes.  Overall, it looks like it is being loved.
Good old Moses Street in Paradise Acres.
After those visits, we went to the Stucki's.  Jeff was one of Brent's mission companions.  After their missions, they both attended Rick's College.  We did a few things together as couples.  They went off to medical school.  We stopped to see them in Alabama when we moved to Florida.  Since then, he has finished and works in Pocatello as an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in hands.  We were just going to stay for a visit, but they convinced us to spend the night.  Our kids had a lot of fun playing with their kids.  Their oldest is a boy (who is a month younger than Wes) and seven girls.  So needless to say, they all had a great time.  Their house was gorgeous.  It is a great size for 8 kids...but I wouldn't want to clean it!  What a view!
On to home and a regular schedule!

Canada

A few last pictures of our stay in Canada.
The new Calgary, Alberta Temple was just about finished.  Brent's brother has a beautiful view of it out his back door.  It sits high on a hill.  We took a drive to it one afternoon.  It was very beautiful.
One night driving home, we were hit with some hail!  It was so loud.  We took a video for the noise.
Driving home through the farm lands of Alberta, we saw many of their grain elevators.  Many of them have the name of the town painted on the sides.  We took a few pictures of those on our way home, again.

This is the video of the hail storm.  We were glad to be in a car.  We did see a couple of people that were walking and got caught.
We loved our visit to Canada.  It was wonderful to spend time with family and be able to have the cousins reunite.  We love all of our family and are so grateful for them.

Minute to Win It Party

That night we celebrated Makenna's birthday with some Minute to Win It games.  The kids all had a blast playing the games.
I can't remember the names of them all.  Aunt Janet did a great job at putting it all together.
They had to swing the nylons to knock over the bottles.

They had to dance and shake to get the ping pong balls out of the box.

How about balancing 5 dice on a Popsicle stick?

Wes trying to get the gumball in the center of the tennis racket.
 Quinten just about has it!
Wes and Curtis are trying to stack the pop cans with spaghetti noodles and their mouths.
The girls are trying to move Smarties (a Canadian candy that is like large M & M's) from the table to the top of the straws by only using their mouths and a straw!

Erin is trying to keep three balloons floating in the air for a minute.

Curtis is trying to bounce a pencil into a cup by the eraser.
 Auntie Janet, the party planner!
 Kara tilting.
 Janiel balancing.
 Makenna balancing.
 Curtis and Janet shaking it!
Neil trying to roll a ping pong ball down a measuring tape into a cup.
Then we had some hillbilly pinata fun!  Garbage bags on a broom stick and a wooden spoon!  Can you say silly!?!

Wes thought it was pretty funny!
And last, but not least...the cake.

Happy Birthday, Makenna!
