The girls found some ears (at Walmart) so they were so excited to wear them to Disney!

| Four Minnies and trouble. |
Erin had a good idea to be the three musketeers. (They know this from Barbie!) All For One!
A view down the main street.
We headed for the Tower of Terror first. We knew the lines would get long for this ride. So we all rode it. What a ride! Kara got off and said, "I didn't like the ghosts, but I liked the dropping!" I think I am the opposite: I liked the ghosts, but not the dropping. Screaming seems to help! The adventurous ones wanted to go again (Janiel, Erin and Ashleigh). So Brent took them to ride again. I was happy to sit out. But Ashleigh had to use the restroom. So I took her fast, then tried to find Brent in the line again. I couldn't find him and got to the front of the Fast Pass line. So I got ushered in for another go! Lucky me.
Minnie Mouse
The girls were so excited to meet Minnie Mouse while wearing their Minnie Mouse ears. She looked really cute in her pink sparkly dress.
Jake
From Jake and the Neverland Pirates TV show
Handy Manny
Mickey as the Sorcerer
Mr. and Mrs. Incredible
Green Army Man
Girls and Stinky Pete
Buzz and Woody
Lightning McQueen and Mater
We also saw some shows here. One of the favorites was The Little Mermaid.
We watched Indian Jones. They did a lot of demonstrations of acting, fighting, lighting things on fire, and other stunts.
My favorite was Beauty and the Beast. The girls sat, glued to the stage. It was so magical and well done.
Another fun show was the Studio Backlot Tour. They also did some demonstrations of water and fire. They showed how their water tank worked: one like used in Pearl Harbor and Titanic. They asked for volunteers and the people in blue volunteered.
After the demonstration, we boarded trams to take a tour of some of the vehicles and other props used in the movies. They store them here until they need them for another movie.
This is their own water tower.
They had this canyon built for another movie and demonstration. They did a little water and a little fire. It was fun to watch!
Herbie!!! The real live one! (They actually had two or three!)
The buildings in the back are just painted on a mural. It is so neat to see.
After the Backlot Tour, we saw a stunt show with cars and motorcycles and a little fire! It also included Lightning McQueen. Janiel really liked this show. They moved props and trucks and different things around for their different demonstrations. It started to rain before this show.
We weren't about to give in because of little rain. So we donned our 88 cent rain ponchos and marched on. We looked a little silly, like the hundreds of others at the park. I think a lot of people left too. It wasn't as busy after that.
A little Star Wars training.
We did the Star Tours ride. We wore 3D glasses and went flying through space. Brent likes Star Wars and wanted to do the ride, but it is a little rough to watch and be shaken.
Had to take a picture of this Diner.
This was also a favorite ride. Toy Story Mania. It is a 3D ride and you get to shoot carnival type games. We got Fast Passes at 10 in the morning, but couldn't get on until 3. It was worth the wait. In the evening, before closing, we went back. The wait time was only 10 minutes. So the little girls, Wes, and I rode it three times while Brent and Janiel checked out the Rock-n-Rollercoaster. Janiel said that was her most favorite ride of all.
Tossing some rings on the aliens!
Erin and Ashleigh's score.
Shooting some targets.
There is also a section that you can watch a show on the animation process. Walt Disney won 32 Academy Awards that were displayed here too. Then in one of the rooms, one of the Disney animators teaches you how to draw a character. We got to learn to draw the Genie from Aladdin. At the end, the animator asked a trivia question. Brent got it right, so he won the drawing from the animator!!! All the kids tried drawing. It was pretty cute. Maybe I'll have to scan in the pictures to post.
What another fun day. The favorite ride vote goes to Tower of Terror!

Great pictures. Great adventures. Great characters! You packed a bunch into each day and everyone is smiling in every picture. Pray tell how you manage that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure how we did that. The last picture shows Erin dashing out and the picture before that shows her missing. It wasn't all smiles, but a majority was! Kara couldn't walk the last 30 minutes either. But you usually don't take pictures of the tantrums!!!
