We decided to go back to the Magic Kingdom for the fourth day. We missed some rides, and wanted to repeat some. When we arrived, this is what Main Street looked like.
They had it all blocked off and we had to take a detour around. It was so crowded at that point, we were wondering if we had made a mistake to come again to that park.
But once we got around and back a little, it wasn't so bad. Come to find out this was the reason for all the extra walking:
He had come to promote a tourism bill to help travel visas to be approved quicker. A little irritating since we couldn't even see him (not sure if I would want to) and he wasn't there for the people or rides. Just to have a press conference. So we had to take the long way around the park until 3 or so.
We hopped right on the Buzz Lightyear ride again.
Each child had to take their turn trying to pull the sword out of the stone. Erin said daddy should try since he is really strong! No luck!
Mary Poppins was hanging out by the carousel. That is an appropriate place for her! We didn't wait in her line to get an autograph.
I love this picture. Kara gets scared easily of the dark or other scary things. Erin told her not to worry, that she would hold onto her. I think this is the Snow White ride.
We were able to meet a few more characters!
Pinocchio
Donald and Daisy
Brent, Wes and Kara were waiting in the Bear Country Jamboree. We missed their show and had to wait for the next. (We probably could have skipped that one :))
Jessie, Woody and Bullseye
Ashleigh really wanted to meet Jessie. Ashleigh is really into horses and cowgirls. Someone in Donald's line said that Jessie and Woody were dancing in this building across the way. So since we missed the bear show and had some time, we went to see them. We also had a fun surprise because Bullseye was in there dancing too! Ashleigh had chosen a Bullseye stuffed animal for a souvenir. It was fun and it made Ashleigh's day!
Aladdin
We went to meet Jasmine, but she wasn't there. A worker said she would be back at a certain time. So we went back and waited. When we got there, Aladdin came out. No Jasmine. A lot of kids in line were very disappointed. They didn't care about Aladdin. We waited in line anyway, but also got a pass to comeback to the front of the line later.
Princess Jasmine
We did go back to see Jasmine, that is the princess that Erin really wanted to see. It was nice to go right to the front of the line.
Princess Tiana
I have to admit, we don't own Princess and the Frog. Some of the voodoo was a little too dark for me. But the idea of Tiana kissing a frog and the adventures she goes on is fun. So when we saw her, the girls wanted to stop. She was cute and even had the southern accent like Tiana. When we walked away, Kara said, "She even had the skin like Tiana." She was beautiful!
Erin really wanted to go into Cinderella's Castle. We couldn't on one side and the other I think is just shops.
The kids like Pirates of the Caribbean. They even had a show outside when we walked past.
Another favorite show was the Enchanted Tiki Room. It was full of singing birds, flowers and Tikis.
We missed going on Splash Mountain and Tom Sawyer's island the first day. So we hit those this day. The kids loved Splash Mountain. The usual adventurers went twice.
Then we used a ferry to cross the the island. That was a fun place that the kids could run and explore. There were caves and hideouts, a fort, playgrounds, and bridges to cross. I think they liked running for a bit!
I caught Janiel and Wes playing checkers while we waited for the ferry. See they can be nice to each other. (I have to remind myself!) Wes looks cute in the purple backpack don't you think? He didn't want to wear it, but he was a sport and took a turn.
At night we enjoyed the electrical parade. We got there early so that we could be close so the girls could see. It was fun!
It was another full day. We left 30 minutes before it closed to try to beat some of the crowds. Ashleigh was disappointed that we didn't see the fireworks, but we ended up seeing them in the parking lot. The favorite ride of this day was Splash Mountain (with Space Mountain coming in a close second!).
