Day 4: July 3, 2012
Gatlinburg to Nashville Tennessee
12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
219 miles
It was kind of fun to walk the streets of Gatlinburg. It is definitely a resort town filled with resort shops. The kind you just look in but don't buy. Brent, his mom and I walked the main street while the kids and Grandpa went swimming at the hotel. We cleaned up and headed out at lunch time.
The white chapel in case you want to get married.
They had a car museum of famous cars from the movies:
Herbie
Bumblebee from the Transformers
The hotel that we stayed in.
Kara jumping into the pool.
Swimming the lazy river.
As we were headed out, the Camry was making a terrible noise. We had driven the mountains the day before and they wondered if that had anything to do with it. We wondered if we needed to leave it behind. Brent took a look under the hood and found that the cross bar holding the battery in place had come loose and was hitting a fan. So luckily it was an easy fix and it managed to make it home.
We arrived in Nashville and we decided to stop at the Grand Ole Opry before going to Heather's house. Brent wanted to surprise his parents by taking them to the Opry and there happened to be a show this night. So while we were looking around, Brent snuck to the box office to get us some tickets.
They had these cool pepper plants in their flower beds.
Janiel, Kara, Erin, Ashleigh and Wes waiting for dad.
We went on to Heather's, she fed us dinner, we dumped the kids and went to a night at the Opry. It was fun to go and listen.
We saw a new star, Sara Darling. She was really good.
We listened to Jimmy Dickens. He is 91 and quite spunky.
Ricky Skaggs has been one of Brent's all time favorite singers. It was fun for Brent to be able to see him perform.
We saw quite a few more. It was a fun night out.

You did some fun things on your trip. We need to let you plan our itinerary next time.
