Spring Break-Day two-Museum

I have had my list of things I wanted to do in Naples.  We are whittling the list down.  But there are a few more things to do with only a few more months to do it in.  One thing on the list was the Collier County Museum.  It looked interesting and it is free: bonus! It had artifacts from Florida's early history.  Some of the things even dated back to dinosaur time.
 Like the saber tooth tiger!
And the giant sloth (this is a baby giant sloth!)
It had history artifacts from the early Indians, pirates, ship merchants, and pioneers.  The girls liked this display of a tiny logging train with tiny people and tiny tools and tiny alligators.  It reminded us of the Night at the Museum movie.
Southern Florida's history is rich with tales of pirates!  They had a whole section on this.  The kids didn't read any information here, they were mainly interested in steering the boat.

There was five acres of displays and botanical gardens.  Erin is smelling some interesting looking flowers.
They called this a swamp buggy.  It is pretty primitive compared to the ones that we saw race last month!
Erin, Kara, Janiel, Macey, Ashleigh and Wesley hanging out in the gazebo.
They also had a Sherman tank on display.

They had an Indian village that we could walk through or climb on...
 Or dance in...
 Or stand on...
 Checking out the shelter.
The kids found this interesting wasp.
Last but not least was the fort.

What another fun day with the Smiths.  We love being with them.  We wish we could fit them in our moving truck.

  1. Glad you are getting to explore during your spring break:) I am also glad to hear that you have found a place to stay the next couple of months. Other than getting to stay where you are, it sounds like a good solution. That realtor has been an angel!! We will see if we can squeeze one more trip in before you leave:) Also, congrats on the job!!!!!!!!!!

  2. We so love doing things with the Primes. Whatever are we going to do when that dreaded trick arrives. We just might have to hitch us a ride with you back west! We are just blocking the date of your imminent departure from our minds - avoidance is bliss sometimes.
