Kara Turns 4!!!

Kara has been counting down to her birthday for a long time.  She knew how she wanted to celebrate.  She wanted to go to Cici's Pizza and have cake and presents.  For her presents she wanted a skirt and a shirt and a purple pony.  Not too difficult!

So we played at the beach for a few hours, came home and cleaned up.  We met Brent at the pizza place.  Cici's Pizza isn't in Utah.  I think they might go bankrupt in Utah with all the families---or they might just make a killing!  It is an all-you-can-eat-buffet of salad, pizza, and desserts.  It isn't to die for pizza, but it isn't gross either.  They have all different varieties and the kids love the choice.  We haven't been there a lot, but the kids like to go there, especially for their birthday.

Kara saw the small game room that they have and said, "I think this is Chuck E. Cheese!"  Chuck E. Cheese would be insulted at the game selection (I think there were 3 different games and a bunch of bubblegum machines!)

After dinner, we headed home for cake and presents.  We were all waddling and our stomaches hurt, but we managed to squeeze in a little cake too.  Kara wanted a mermaid cake.  We found this little Barbie mermaid a week ago.  I didn't let Kara open the box, so she carried around the box for a week, just dreaming of the day when it would be opened.  It is our favorite chocolate cake with cream cheese and cool whip frosting---decked out with sugar and more sugar!!!

Kara saw this fluffy skirt at Costco and knew she had to have it.  Luckily, Brent was with us, so he snuck  behind in a different line to buy it.  Good thing too because there were none to be found this last week.

Grandma and Grandpa Breinholt sent a fun package with colored pencils, paper, stickers, play-do, a cute apron and a swimming suit.  Kara got right to work!

Kara's hair surprises me sometimes.  It is quite light at the bottom and has really cute highlights (that people pay to have put in their hair!)

She had a fun birthday.  We couldn't find a stuffed purple pony, but managed to find a My Little Pony set with a purple one.  She had fun later in the day when the mailman showed up with more gifts.  She got a shirt and skirt from the Bickhams (perfect!) and $5 from Great Grandma and Grandpa Breinholt.  Apparently the mailmen are on strike in Canada.  They are taking turns with with Province will strike.  Not sure when the other package might come!  Poor Grandma and Grandpa Prime.  She'll love to remember her birthday all over again when it does.
