Naples Zoo

The first Saturday of the month is free at the zoo (to Collier County residents).  Last time we went it was quite crowded-we got there as they opened.  This time, we waited later in the afternoon.  It wasn't quite so crowded with people or animals. They seemed to be cleaning exhibits and getting ready to close.  But we enjoyed ourselves and will go back once the weather cools down again.
The lion put on a big show of roaring!

Erin, Kara, and Ashleigh waiting to go on the "primate cruise".

Cute freckles, Janiel.
None of the monkeys are in cages.  They are all just surrounded by water on islands.  So you get to ride in a boat around all of the islands to see the different monkeys.  The kids really enjoy that!
Janiel and Ashleigh enjoying the cruise.

Wes and Kara and the lady behind them.

Erin was taking it all in.

This gibbon saw the boat and climbed right up to show off.  He hung there until we passed.  Kind of funny.

They have a new exhibit of giraffes, but they closed when we got there.  We'll have to go back to get a closer look.

Ashleigh in the middle looks like we all felt.  It was very hot and pretty miserable-but the kids did great.
