Day 10: July 9, 2012
Kearney, Nebraska to Lehi, Utah
513 miles
8:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
We debated about one more day on the road. The more we thought about it, the more we just wanted to be home. So we made this our last day on the road. I think we messed up my family's plans.
We passed through two more states:
11. Wyoming
12. Utah
While we were driving somewhere in either Nebraska or Wyoming, Brent noticed two travel buses. He knew immediately that they were Kenny Chesney's by the design on the back. We waved and honked, but the driver didn't even seem to notice. He is probably used to that.
While we were out taking pictures at the Wyoming border, the buses passed us. This time they honked at us! We're not used to that. It made us smile.
So we finished taking our pictures.
Can you see Lincoln in the trees? We didn't stop for the memorial.
We are starting to see some rolling hills!
Ashleigh: There are some real mountains!!!
Erin: Yeah, not the tree mountains (meaning the Smoky Mountains, which are gorgeous.)
Ashleigh: Yeah. Those are rocky mountains.
So I am thinking some six year old pioneer named the Rocky Mountains.
Home at last.
We finally caught up to Kenny's bus.
Wes was busily making a sign for him.
Here is our first view of Lehi. Home.
