Day 1:
Brent and I got up at 5:30 a.m. to pack some more. The Trent's showed up about 6:30 to help load. Meggen vacuumed too. What a sweet friend to do that. Not to mention that she cleaned the bathrooms a couple of days before. We loaded everything else. We basically took the mattress from under the kids to load. The Smith's came over to say bye one more time. It was so hard to leave such good friends. We pulled out about 9:30 a.m. We stopped at "The Hole in the Rock" to get a break. We walked around for a bit to stretch our legs. We saw a lot of long stretches of road. It is amazing what beautiful land there is around us. We made it to our first stop in Taylor, Arizona about 9:00 p.m. We stayed with the Pecks. Brent served his mission with Elder Peck. They are a good family and it was fun to see how much their kids had grown. We went to bed about 11 p.m. and Kara was a stinker. She cried for an hour. So that made for a late night. We traveled a total of 635 miles in 11 1/2 hours our first day. Our truck was picked up and was waiting in Salt Lake City.
