Melanie left to go back home, but we were lucky to have Macey for a couple of extra weeks. We decided that camping would be a great adventure.
To get a camping spot around here you have to reserve a year in advance. They do have some walk up spots, so we were hoping to get one of those. No luck...and we got there early!
Our next option was an open area with a toilet or one without.
We figured with 6 girls we better try for the one with a toilet.
The only spot there we could find was right at the entrance and right next to the road.
This automatically made us the camp host. If you have a question, stop and ask the tent at the first. Since it was our first time there, we had no answers to their questions.
Girls are helping dad set up the tent.
Janiel and Macey putting up their tent.
Kara being Kara.
Brent giving some instructions on something. Probably the art of roasting hot dogs over the camp chef.
They did a mighty fine job!
Poor Wes is out numbered, again.
Cute girls!
Just right!
Since it really wasn't a campsite, we really didn't have a table. So the back of the Yukon served as the serving table. Their laps served as the eating table.
And the cooler and camping tote served as the game playing table.
The sun was setting and made a beautiful shot.
The mountains are amazing.
I guess Wes doesn't like to play games with his sisters. He would rather play with fire.
Cute friends.
Adorable sisters.
I love that my kids love to play games. It is nice now that they are older and we can even play most games together. One of their favorites is UNO.
Kara loves Macey.
And of course, a camp out wouldn't be complete without S'mores!
And we had a little smoke dancing.
The next morning, someone obviously got a hold of the camera. You can tell why I prefer to take the pictures. Me in my jammies.
Yummy bacon sizzling.
Our make-shift tables.
As you can see, we are almost to the top of the mountain!
The girls thought it was great fun to jump from rock to rock.
It was perfect weather. It started to rain as we were loading up to go home. Even though we didn't have a organized camp spot, it turned out perfect.
