Dreams Come True

There are tons of pictures for this post.  I tried to limit the 125 pictures that were taken.  But when certain girls are in heaven, it is hard to limit that joy.  The girls were so excited to go to Auntie Val's house to learn how to ride horses.  They had been looking forward to it. They had their cowgirl hats and have watched Heartland (remember this POST?) They wondered if they could ride the horses by themselves and hold on to the strings.  So we headed out to the country!  The beautiful country!

But first we had to stop for some lunch at KFC.
The girls
Erin, Ashleigh, Janiel, Makenna and Kara
 And the boys
Wes, Quinten and Grandpa
Ashleigh found the cute kitten right away.
They tried to hide, but it was no use.

Erin seemed to find them all the time!

Kara caught one now and then too.

Cats and dog just chillin'.  This was after Pepsi got stepped on by the horse.  But she seemed just fine.

The view at Val's house was so relaxing.  I loved it.

This one is perfect: a cute girl on the fence, the saddle to the right and the horses coming in from behind!

 Here they come!
 They were so excited!

Auntie Val took them by the barn so the kids could brush down the horses.

Brent even got in on some of the action.

 Ashleigh was in heaven.
The girls watched as Jack saddled the horses.
  Sitting on the fence post...

Ashleigh was more than ready to take her turn.
 Ashleigh on Bud.
Makenna took Janiel around on Blaze.

Jack, Makenna, Val, Grandma and Grandpa were good sports at taking the girls around and around and around.
  Cousins
Erin taking her turn on Blaze.
 Ashleigh is still on Bud.
Kara finally convinced Ashleigh that it was her turn.

You can tell by the smiles that it was a hit!
Erin found a kitty for her break.  Wes was thrilled to be there.  He is allergic to animals so he didn't want to ride.
Jack and Makenna did some tricks for us.
 Auntie Val got on.
 And Brent.
 And Grandma.
 And me.
Then Ashleigh got to try with just the reins.  No lead rope.

A lot of pictures, I know.  But this is Ashleigh's favorite love.
  Kara
 Then two girls tried together.

Erin trying without a lead rope.

 Makenna being tricky!
 They fed them some oats.

Jack and Makenna had a race.
They had some other horses in a different pasture.  So we went to see them.

See the love in the hugs?
We went back to the house, had a yummy barbecue, some birthday cake (it was Val's birthday), and hung out.
Then it was more horse riding!

This is our nephew, Brayden with his step-son.

 Makenna sharing her tricks.
This is another nephew, Taylor, riding.
It was a perfect day.  It was wonderful just to be with family.  But is was wonderful to see Val's place and share her love of horses.
